When John and I arrived at Trafalgar Square on Tuesday morning we were struck by the sight of a workman hosing down a huge blue sculpture of a rooster!
It was Katharina Fritsch's delightful, acquamarine blue Hahn/Cock (2013), made of reinforced polyester resin, facing the old Nelson Monument that has long dominated the square.
Congratulations to London for adding a great contemporary work of art to its glorious meeting place! We love it!
Here's the inscription at the base of the plinth.
