Berlin Arrival

Bill and I arrived in Berlin yesterday. We made all our connections smoothly and our Berlin contact was waiting for us in the garden of the courtyard when we arrived. He showed us a spacious, airy, light-filled flat with high ceilings and hardwood floors throughout. It is in a quiet, residential neighbourhood in Kreuzsburg. The temperatures are in the mid-20s under sunny skies. Berlin is very casual and the people are friendly. We feel totally at home here already.
Yesterday we were too jet-lagged to do anything but get in some basic provisions. Our main priority was to catch up on our sleep.
Today we went to the Gerhard Richter retrospective at the Neue Nationalgalerie (Mies van der Rohe's last building). It was a spectacular show as was the museum's permanent collection.

We've already taken 120 pictures but our camera and our netbook are not on speaking terms. This has never happened before -- the pics have always downloaded in a flash. But we just can't make the netbook recognize the camera. I'm googling a solution. We hope to bring you many picture posts soon.
Just wanted to let you know that we arrived safely and that we are well. Pergamon Museum tomorrow!
