John and I were pleased to finally get to this private home and collection of Count Moïse de Camondo, son of a wealthy Sephardic Jewish banker, who emigrated to Paris from Istanbul in the late 19th century.
An avid collector of 18th century art and furnishings and a gifted interior designer, Moïse, had this elegant mansion commissioned in the style of the Petit Trianon at Versailles to house his collection.
The elegant mansion is situated in the classy 8th arrondissement just above Boulevard Hausmann.
The mansion's garden faces onto Parc Monceau, making it all the grander.
Steps lead down from the ground floor to the parterre and formal garden adding to the 18th century style of the house.
